Welcome to part III of our Class Balance article, explaining how New Order, our upcoming 7.0 update, changes and improves all classes and roles in Allods!

WARNING! The description provided below may not include the whole list of changes in the upcoming update. Please keep in mind that many icons now refer to different abilities. In the future, they will be redesigned.

In this article we'll be telling you about Aspects of Support and Suppression, and also changes in weapon mechanics.


Support & Suppression

The likes of Psionicist and Mage can employ a strategy that involves weakening, or entirely controlling, their enemies. When using the appropriate Aspects, several regular class abilities can induce negative properties, or increase the duration of control abilities.

For example, Psionicist in Aspect of Suppression can stun enemies with their combat abilities, and Mage in Aspect of Support can apply negative effects with their Fire spells.

On the other hand, Bards and Engineers function as support. In the corresponding Aspect their main goal is to strengthen and protect their party. Although their damage is reduced in this Aspect, they can grant their allies numerous positive effects.

Even though they seem similar, the mechanics of these classes in the same Aspect are quite different.


Weapons

Having considered your suggestions regarding weapons, we decided to implement significant changes to their mechanics in update 7.0. The selection of weapons, available for each class, will expand significantly. Since we’ve evened their speeds, now you will be able to choose your weapon depending on its appearance and not on the mechanics.

Weapons will only be looted from bosses, thus you will be free to change them at the first opportunity.

All weapons will be divided into two types: Slow and Fast.

  • Fast Weapons: All one-handed weapons, bows and crossbows, paired daggers, fist weapons, swords and daggers.

  • Slow Weapons: All two-handed weapons, paired maces and paired axes.


Psionicists

Goals: Inflicting Damage, Control, Support.
Class Resources: Stress.

Class

Experienced fighters know that neither arrows nor lightning bolts are the biggest threat in combat. Powers that cannot be seen are often the most dangerous. With the power of thought alone, Psionicists can kill an enemy without lifting their finger - or reverse the course of battle in an instant. They blatantly interfere with the minds of their opponents, suppress their morale, and paralyse their will. However, these mental efforts can exhaust Psionicists and leave them completely vulnerable.

Mage

Goals: Inflicting Damage, Control, Support.
Class Resources: Elements.

Class

All Mages know that there is no other science as sophisticated and complex as magic, with the most dedicated Mages finally shaking off the shackles of requiring mana to cast spells. Instead, they derive their strength from the elements themselves. Despite intensive training, Mages can easily lose control of these Elements, yet those who can keep said elements in check will have power enough to annihilate all who stand in their way through sheer elemental ferocity.

Bard

Goals: Inflicting Damage, Support.
Class Resources: Tempo.

A Bard is always a welcome companion – not only are they proficient fighters, but also encourage their allies with invigorating songs while demoralizing the enemy. Their music is magic to the ears – well, it's magic in general, actually... They can even sing life into inanimate weapons and have them attack enemies on their own! Bards always have an ace-in-the-hole and are never caught unaware.

Goals: Inflicting Damage, Support.
Class Resources: Temperature.

Science rapidly advances in Sarnaut. Every year, the greatest engineering minds invent more and more amazing things. Mechanics and Gunners have learned to use several new appliances, including a reactor that works on thermal energy alone. These cutting-edge technologies allow Engineers to both effectively support their allies and destroy heedless enemies through unconstrained technological dominance
